What is MyMedicare?

​

MyMedicare is a new voluntary program that helps strengthen your relationship with your GP and clinic. It’s free and allows you to enjoy extra Medicare benefits when you register your preferred medical centre.​

​

These benefits are available to all patients with a Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card. MyMedicare encourages consistent care by linking you to a clinic you trust while still allowing you to visit other clinics if needed.

How to Register:

- Online:

1. Log into your Medicare Online Account or the Express Plus Medicare app.

2. Search for Meadows Family Doctors in the list of registered clinics.

3. Follow the prompts to complete your registration.

Note: If you can’t find us in the system yet, check back later as we may still be completing our setup.

• In Person:

1. Visit our clinic and fill out a registration form at reception.

2. Our staff will finalize your registration in the MyMedicare system.

Benefits of Registering:

• Longer Medicare-funded telehealth calls (20+ minutes) with GPs at your registered clinic.

• Higher Medicare rebates for certain services.

• Extra bulk-billing incentives for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders.

For DVA Cardholders:

If you have a DVA Veteran Card, registering with MyMedicare ensures you can access these benefits and maintain continuity of care at your chosen clinic.

Key Details:

• Registration is free, optional, and open from 1 October 2023 (no closing date).

• You can only register with one clinic at a time but can change or unregister anytime.

• Children under 14 must be registered by a parent/guardian, while those aged 14–17 can register themselves.
